Installation

Where do I install the application from?
You can install Puretracks™ Mobile Edition for BlackBerry® by pointing your device browser to www.puretracks.com/blackberry/app/ptmobile.jad. Alternatively, you can visit us on our main site to obtain full details.

Can I sideload the application?
Absolutely. You will need to connect your BlackBerry® device to your computer and ensure BlackBerry® Desktop Manager is running. For further information, please see our Getting Started page.

Can I download the application over the air?
Yes. Puretracks™ Mobile Edition for BlackBerry® is designed for over the air delivery of music!

What BlackBerry® devices are supported?
Puretracks™ Mobile Edition supports BlackBerry® Pearl™, BlackBerry® Curve™, BlackBerry® 8800 series, or BlackBerry® 8700 series of devices.

Do I need expandable memory to download music on my BlackBerry®
A MicroSD memory card, 128MB or higher will be required to use this application.

Log-in / Registration

Can I share my account with friends to let them download music?
We recommend you keep all your account information confidential. If your friends have BlackBerry® devices, let them know they can install Puretracks™ Mobile Edition instantly to enjoy music while on the go!

I cannot find my music files. What should I do?
Your music is saved to a default download directory. To view or modify this location, select "Account Settings" from the main menu, and then highlight "Change Other Settings". Your music folder will be specified under "Download Directory".

What is the Puretracks™ music selection like?
Puretracks™ features a wide variety of song from leading and emerging artists. Older hits or today’s most favourite, we’ve got something for everyone.

What is the format and/or quality of the files?
Puretracks™ Mobile Music Store offers top quality files in AAC+ format at a 64 bit rate, without digital rights management restrictions.

How often is the Puretracks™ Mobile Music Store updated with new music?
Our mobile music catalogue just got started and is updated every week. A number of music owners are not yet comfortable with their content being delivered in an open format for mobile.

Our catalogue and music label selection will continue to expand as licensors increasingly agree to this direction, as we are confident this provides the best user experience. Visit us frequently to see what’s new!

Can I download full albums?
Our store currently features only single track downloads, mainly to ensure files are delivered to mobile users as quickly as possible.

Once I download a song, is it mine to own and use in any BlackBerry®?
All content downloaded from the Puretracks™ Mobile Edition is meant for personal use only.

Payment

How do I redeem PIN codes from my promo card?
After you download and install Puretracks™ Mobile Edition, select a track you would like to download. On check-out, you will be requested to enter PIN and Serial numbers, which are located at the back of your promo card. That’s it!

I get an error when I enter my code. Can you help?
Please make sure your PIN and Serial numbers are entered correctly. If your PIN/Serial combination is already redeemed, you will need to purchase an e-Card for more credit. If your problem persists, please contact help desk.

What payment methods are accepted?
Puretracks™ Mobile Edition for BlackBerry® is a Beta Release and currently supports promotional PIN/Serial codes.

What happens if I run out of downloads but I would like to continue downloading?
You can purchase an e-card at any time to buy more songs. Our e-cards are available in many denominations and count as credit against your purchases. Please click here to try one.

Downloads

How long does it take to download a track?
Download time will vary based on your network traffic and provider. On average, a three minute tracks should download within two minutes.

What happens if a song download fails?
If your download is interrupted, you will receive an onscreen message prompting you to resume. Select accept and your download will start again.

How do I add downloaded tracks to my media player for playback?
You can listen to your files directly from the Puretracks™ Mobile Edition once your download completes. Otherwise, your tracks will be automatically added to the BlackBerry® Media Player, ready for you to enjoy.

Is there a restriction to the number of songs I can download?
You can download as many songs as you wish, granted you do not exceed the value on your promotional card or e-Card.

Billing / Usage Concerns

Do I incur additional charges from BlackBerry® when I download tracks?
The total price is presented when purchasing tracks; there are no extra charges for installing the Puretracks™ Mobile Music Store on your device. However, you may be charged for data services by your carrier. Please check your monthly service plan and allowed data usage.

Extended Use and Features

Can I transfer files to my computer and listen there?
Files you download from Puretracks™ Mobile Music Store are yours to enjoy in many ways. You can use BlackBerry® Desktop Manager to transfer them to your computer.

Where can I download updates for Puretracks Mobile?
You will be notified via e-mail as updates become available. Instructions and links to complete your updates there will be presented there.
